A cystometry tests the pressure within the bladder for patients experiencing difficulty holding or releasing urine as a result of muscle or nerve problems. During the test, a uroflowmeter will create a detailed report on how long your bladder takes to empty and how much urine is released, among other factors, and a cystometer will measure your bladder pressure and capacity while it’s filled with room-temperature water.
This test should only take about 30 minutes to an hour, and you will not need to make any special preparations. Afterward, you can resume your normal day-to-day activities immediately. Dr. Hernandez or Dr. Grady will ensure that you fully understand the process and benefits of a cystometry test, so you are confident and comfortable with your care.
